• Disconnect the sander from power before changing sandpaper, removing the dust canister or performing maintenance.
• Secure the workpiece before sanding.
• Wear appropriate eye, hearing and dust protection for the job.

• The PEMS-140 is not recommended for sanding drywall or plaster.

Do not press down hard. Let the tool's own weight provide the pressure. Excessive pressure can slow the motor, wear the sandpaper faster, reduce sanding performance and may cause overheating.

Step 1. Choose the Right Grit

Start with a coarser grit when more material needs to be removed, then move to finer grits as the surface becomes smoother. If you are unsure, test a small, inconspicuous area first.

Tip: Lower grit numbers remove material faster. Higher grit numbers produce a smoother finish.

Step 2. Attach the Sandpaper

Align the dust openings in the sandpaper with the openings in the sanding pad, then press the paper firmly and evenly onto the hook-and-loop surface.

Step 3. Attach the Dust Canister

Align the dust canister with the rear dust-extraction port and push it straight onto the port until it is fully seated.

Step 4. Start Before Touching the Workpiece

Switch the sander on while the sanding pad is clear of the workpiece. Allow the motor to reach full speed, then lower the sander gently onto the surface with a slight forward movement.

Step 5. Let the Sander Do the Work

Do not force the sander downward. Let the tool's own weight provide the pressure while your hand simply guides it.

Step 6. Keep the Sander Moving

Keep the sanding pad flat on the surface and guide the tool steadily. Do not hold the sander in one spot for too long, as it can remove too much material and leave an uneven surface.

Step 7. Finish With the Grain

Step 8. Lift Off, Then Turn Off

When sanding is complete, lift the sander completely away from the workpiece first. Then press the OFF side of the switch.

Step 9. Empty the Dust Canister

Make sure the tool is off before servicing the dust canister. Remove the canister from the rear port, release the lid tab as shown, lift the lid, then empty the collected dust into an appropriate waste container.

Step 10. Clean After Use

Keep the ventilation openings clean. After use, remove accumulated dust from the tool housing and vents. If the enclosure needs wiping, use only a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents, and never allow liquid to enter the tool.

A: Check that the sandpaper dust openings are aligned, the dust canister is fully seated, and the canister has not exceeded about 1/3 full.

A: Stop applying extra downward pressure and check that the air vents are clear. Excessive pressure and blocked vents can contribute to overheating.

A: No. The PEMS-140 is not recommended for drywall or plaster because these materials produce ultra-fine sanding particles.
